Disability Awareness Training (DAT) specializes in training sports complexes and music venues on all aspects related to patrons with disabilities, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and universal accessibility. It also serves to address the void in most Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging plans.
26% of the American population has a disability, making it the largest minority in the country. The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law on July 26, 1990, which revolutionized access and inclusion. However, most people still struggle to appropriately and accurately respond to disabled Americans and the disability community in general, as illustrated in a recent ESPN survey on barriers faced by people with invisible disabilities.
